Os Yorkies eram vistos nos colos de madames afortunadas da Inglaterra. Em 1880, os Yorkshires chegaram à América, mas a raça tinha tamanhos tão variados que começou a gerar uma confusão em relação ao tamanho correto de um Yorkshire Terrier. Esses Yorkies de antigamente pesavam de 5,5kg a 6,3kg. Em 1900, foi decidido tanto na Europa quanto na América, que o menor tamanho era preferencial, e começaram a se esforçar para criar Yorkies cada vez menores, com o pêlo cada vez mais longo.
Eles tiveram sucesso, e o Yorkshire Terrier atualmente é uma das menores e mais luxuosas raças de pêlo longo que existem.
Shih Tzus são alegres e extrovertidos. Eles são bons cães de colo e ótima companhia para brincar também. Eles estão sempre animados. São apegados à família e ótimos com crianças. Eles são bem teimosos e podem ser difíceis de educar. Os Shih Tzus ocupam o 70º lugar no ranking de inteligência canina. Eles também são bons cães de alerta e costumam latir quando acontece algo novo à sua volta.

Yorkie and Shih Tzu.
The Yorkies were seen in laps of lucky ladies in England. In 1880, the Yorkshires came to America, but the race had so many different sizes that they began to generate a confusion regarding the correct size of a Yorkshire Terrier. These old Yorkies used to weight from 5.5 kg to 6.3 kg. In 1900, it was decided both in Europe and America, that the smallest size was better, and began to create Yorkies even smallers, with long pelage.
They succeeded, and the Yorkshire Terrier is currently one of the smallest and most luxurious long hair race that breathes.
Shih Tzus are cheerful and outgoing. They are good lap dogs and great company to play, as well. They are always excited. Are attached to the family and great with children. They are very stubborn and can be difficult to educate. The Shih Tzus occupy the 70th place in the ranking of canine intelligence. They are also good alert dogs, they tend to bark when something new happens around them.
